Flash Gallery

Watching You

Watching You

No, it’s not a Macromedia Flash gallery. Rather, it’s me playing around with an L-bracket flash adaptor for my camera. It gives an old-timey effect, where instead of the flash being lined up with the lens to cast shadows directly behind the subject, the flash is off axis, about 6 inches or so to the left. This causes a hard shadow to the right of the subject. Just do a search for Diane Arbus on the ‘net, and you’ll see some great examples.

The new gallery is called by the completely uninspired name of Flash Portraits]. Just one picture in there so far, but I’m going to be adding some more.

Also, on a related note, I’ve added a new image, Watching You, to Bare Portraits.
