Birth Announcement
A few weeks ago, I decided to create a new web site to showcase my completed photo series. I played around with a few different designs, and eventually settled on one I like. It’s mostly hand-crafted (i.e. no tools other than Photoshop and a text editor), but since I anticipate the site will change slowly, I’m not too worried about the extra effort required to maintain it.
The new site is located at http://finitesquid.com/
The site is mostly completed, but it’s missing the Coal and Huber Breaker series. I’m in the process of re-working the photos (mainly just small tweaks), and I hope to have that work completed by the end of the month. Also, there is a bit of text missing, but I’ll write some nonsense and add it shortly.
My plan for the timofejew.ca site is to continue as usual posting photos and developing new series. Once I’m happy with a series, I’ll migrate it to the fintesquid.com site. It’s kind of like a software development life-cycle: this site is “development”, and the new site is “production”. I can be such a nerd sometimes…
I would be delighted to hear any feedback on the new site’s design (or content, for that matter). I think the site navigation is fairly intuitive, but then again, I’m the designer – by definition, it’s impossible for me to not know how to navigate it, and it may in fact be a pain in the ass. I hope it’s simple enough.
Also, one of the main benefits of the new site is that one doesn’t need to know how to spell my last name…
Anyway, I hope you like it!
