Well, one of the Pole Dance Invitation pictures was published on page 25 of the December 2005 issue of Toronto Life! And, I got the photo credit. Yay me!

But, as with most things in life, there was a compromise… they did some serious editing to fit the space. My opinion is that it pretty much wrecked the original image. In their defence, it was a short article about the event, and there wasn’t much space for a picture. However, the image they chose for publication was probably the worst one to remove the background from. It looks like her leg was horribly burnt in a fire or something. Yuck.
If I get the opportunity to have another image published, I’m going to attach a condition that I need to approve the final edit. It would have been a bit different if they purchased the image from me – heck, then it’s theirs to do what they want with it. But I made the (incorrect) assumption that they would have basically kept the image intact. Ah well. Live and learn. I’m still quite flattered that they chose to publish my work, even if it’s not technically my work anymore with those edits…
